2000: Mexican Horse Bandits 2nd: Blue Arse Flies
Horse Bandits sneaked through the semi-final against Fusion. Most notable
for the moment that Steve Shipley actually let go during that hammer fake.
As suspected it does not come back down until after it hits the back wall!!!
Horse Bandits beat BAF after being down throughout the whole game to score
the last three points to win.

Somewhere on my website I've got a page with a photo of the BUF National
Indoor Championships trophy and a list of Champions on it.
It is, however, a little out of date (last updated 1997!) and I'm
thinking of updating it (or maybe someone else wants it?)
Here's the list I've got, with a quick history lesson attached (feel
free to correct me if I've missed anything/got it wrong!)
BUF National Indoor Champions
1979 Robber Barons F.C.
1980 Ally Pally Tossers
1981 Clivedon Studs
all of the above are WAY before my time!
1982 Samurai
- some of these guys can still be seen playing for HeadRush
1983 Samurai
1984 Tennants Super F.C.
- mostly became 'Mysterons' and later 'Violently Happy'
1985 Warwick Bears
- from the cradle of British Ultimate
1986 Battersea Boleros
- subtitled 'the Holy Lunching Friars of Voondoon'
1987 Stan
- a team of Warwick Bears graduates
1988 Hombres
- the UK team with arguably the best UK record (Indoor and
Outdoor) ever
- they later became 'the old men who play O' in Shotgun Wedding,
who went on to make Clapham their stomping ground
1989 Stan
1990 Hombres
1991 Hombres
1992 Fluid Druids
- they're still around, the original UK team to play in purple
1993 Regulators
- they later became 'the youngsters who play D' in Shotgun
Wedding. Some of them are now recognisable as the 'old men who play O'
for Clapham.
1994 Fluid Druids
1995 Fluid Druids
1996 Fluid Druids
1997 Fluid Druids
is this right for the more recent years?
1998 UTI (2nd: Fluid Druids) @ Cheltenham
- another team of graduate Warwick Bears, some of them now play
for Clapham
1999 Blue Arse Flies (2nd: Fluid Druids) @ Cheltenham
- they're still around, you know them!
2000 ? (2nd: ?)@ Plymouth
2001 Mexican Horse Bandits (2nd: Blue Arse Flies) @ Cheltenham
- 'Team Shipley'? another group of graduate Warwick Bears
